For this reason, migrating applications between the two database management systems may require some degree of customization. Conversely, it is also possible to write an application that makes use of ASE's unique features that will not run on SQL Anywhere. That is, the two products do not have identical feature sets, and so it is possible to write an application using SQL Anywhere that will not run unmodified with ASE.
